      Norman Kirmer, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home in Spring Valley, NY, on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012. Norman was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Claire. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Diane Schneider and Maxine Lawrence and her husband Marty (who was like a son to him). Also survived by grandchildren, Carrie and Jenny Schneider and Nikki and Matt Lawrence, cherished nieces and nephews, wonderful friends, and devoted caregiver, Hazel. Norman was born and raised in New York City until he moved to Rockland County in 1961 at which time he and his brother, Eli, started a furniture business known as 2 Bros. Furniture on Route 59 in Nanuet, NY until 1979. Norman resumed his career at J.C. Penney where he worked in the furniture department until his retirement at age 80. Normans' love of life, generosity and optimism will be missed by all who knew him. "His was a life well lived". Services were held on Friday, Nov. 1, 2012 at Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn, NJ. Burial followed at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Flushing, NY.
