- Beatrice Julia"Bee" Van Dusen, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Roy R. Van Dusen Jr.; a brother, Leonard Strauss of Chicopee, Mass.; and two nieces and a nephew, including Susan Collins of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by son, Lt. Roy R. Van Dusen III. Bee was born in New York City and grew up in White Plains, New York, where she graduated from high school in 1937. In World War II, she served in the Women's Army Corps at Ft. Benning, Georgia, where she was married in 1945. She traveled widely with her Army officer husband, living in Taiwan, Germany and Hong King. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland when she lived in Columbia, Maryland in 1978.
