    • William Lesser II, 87, of 405 North Hemlock Lane, Williamstown, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 in Naples, Fla., as a result of an automobile accident.Born in Albany, N.Y., on Jan. 26, 1916, he was a son of William and Marjorie (May) Lesser. He attended schools in Albany and graduated from Albany Academy. He also graduated from Williams College, Williamstown, with the Class of 1937.
      Mr. Lesser was a decorated veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict, where he served as a navigator with the U.S. Air Force.
      He was a longtime resident of Westchester County and New York City where he was employed in the hops and brewing sales industry and the packaging and displaying sales industry. He was last employed as the president of Eastern Packaging & Display Co. in New York City, retiring in the mid-1980s.
      Mr. Lesser moved to Williamstown following his retirement. He was a member of the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown and an avid tennis player. He was a former member of the Board of Directors for the Williamstown Youth Center. He was an avid sportsman.
      Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Berkman, whom he married in 1975 in New York City; a stepson, Steven Roth of Weston; two step-grandchildren, Joshua and Madeline Roth of Weston; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Kay Lesser of Orlando, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
