- COLUMBIA - Service for Sylvia Dunsky Fisher, 86, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Beth Shalom Cemetery, Whaley Street. The family will receive friends Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Sander Fields, 15 Holliday Court, Columbia, S.C. 29223. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tree of Life Congregation or Beth Shalom Synagogue. Mrs. Fisher died Thursday, February 10, 2005. She was the wife of the late George I. Fisher, who was a research engineer for General Motors. Born in Detroit, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Morris and Celia Fedder Dunsky. She was employed as an accountant in the automobile industry in Detroit for more than forty-five years. An accomplished ballroom dancer, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and photography. She was a former member of Beth Shalom Synagogue. Mrs. Fisher 's life was devoted to family and friends. She was small in stature, but had an enormous capacity in finding love in her heart for all those individuals who entered her life. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne Carol Fields and Dr. Sander Fields of Columbia and Marylou Hobbs and Ritchie Hobbs of Marietta, Ga.; grandchildren, Dr. Andrew J. Fields and his wife, Rebecca, of Chapin, Dr. James M. Fields and his wife, Danna, of Blythewood and Robert Berris of Marietta, Ga.; great-grandson, Player Austin Fields; sisters, Rose Wolf, Hilda Slipson and Esther Dalbey; and dearest friend, Naomi Breedlove of Columbia.
