  Gretel Gates Mar. 24, 1923-Sept. 18, 2014 Resident of Alameda Long time beloved resident of 62 years, Gretel Gates, passed away peacefully of natural causes, at home, on Sept. 18, 2014. She was 91 years old. She is survived by her children, Sylvia Scher & husband Barry Scher, Brenda Gates-Monasch, David Gates and Mimi Bonadona & husband Morris Bonadona. She also had 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The memorial service was held on Sept. 21 at Temple Israel of Alameda.
