    • Leon A Marlett 81 1504 20th Ave died Tuesday morning July 27 1999 at Altoona Hospital lowing an extended illness He was born Oct 23 1917 in Altoona the son of John L and Laura Benden Marlett He was twice married First he married Kathlyn Hirsh She died Oct 25 1953 He then married Mary Forbes Cowan March at the Perm State Altoona Chapel Mr Marlett was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament He retired as a painter from the maintenance department of Altoona Hospital in 1983 with seven years of service Mr Marlett was an Army an of World War II and the Korean conflict He enjoyed hunting Mr Marlett was a member of the of Columbus one of the original founders of the Altoona Parochial Football League in 1953 had coached the Cathedral football team for many years and was assistant coach of the Cesare Battisti club's Little League ball team Surviving are his wife four John E of Buffalo Ronald A of Auburn David L of Reno Nev and Dennis of Stevensville Md a daughter Kathleen M Cowan of Altoona two Evelyn Farber and Eleanor Roscia both of a brother James of Neptune Beach Fla 15 grandchildren and 12 He was preceded in death by a daughter Roberta Lutz May 15 1992
