Longtime member of Silvergate Yacht Club. She and her husband were docents of San Diego Maritime Museum. Luster, Sally Asher 05/24/1937 ~ 08/21/2014 SAN DIEGO -- Sally Luster, 77, of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully with both her daughters at her side on Thursday, August 21, at Glen Brook Skilled Nursing Center in Carlsbad, California. She was born in Great Neck, New York and was the only child of Harry and Mary Asher. Sally is survived by her daughters Pam Heidler (husband Bill) and Susie Bright (husband Dan); stepsons Carl Luster (wife Sheila) and Paul Luster (wife Pamela) and grandchildren Matt, Eric, Pete, Devon, Joshua, Mason, Alex, Ian, Brendan, Sarah, Kevin and Carson. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 30 years, William F. Luster. Sally was a social person who enjoyed sailing, tennis, traveling, cultural events and spending time with family and friends. She was a longtime member of Silvergate Yacht Club and held various positions on the ladies auxiliary. She was an Alumna of Smith College, and a member of the American Association of University Women. Sally and Bill also enjoyed cruising on their boat, Adagio, and volunteering their time as docents at the San Diego Maritime Museum.
