Notes |
- Donald I Rothschild passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born February 2 1930 to Joseph Donald and Frances Schwartz Rothschild. He was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Don met his wife, Tarris Joel, at the University of Texas, Austin. They were married in August of 1952 in Galveston, Texas. The couple moved around a lot as Don followed the oil and gas fields as a geologist. They spent time in Washington, DC while Don was in the Army, and again travelled after Don began work for Shell Oil Company as a geophysicist. Don travelled the world looking for oil for Adams Resources & Energy and Anschutz Exploration Company. The latter brought him and his family to the Denver area in 1973, where they settled for the next 48 years. Don later went back to university and earned an additional degree to launch a successful career in Employee Assistance Program management and Drug/Alcohol testing. He launched a software company called Peak Paths helping companies manage the EAPA programs. Don continued to work well into his 80's but spent more and more time on his photography hobby.
He is survived by his children, Joel Rothschild and his wife Pam Miller of San Bernadino, CA; Cindy Eldenburg and husband Dave Eldenburg of Johnstown, CO; his two step-granddaughters, Heidi Bramlet (Henry) and Erika Buchanan (Ed), as well as 4 great-grandchildren – Odessa, Dyson, Ripley, and Skylar. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Babette Strauss, his daughter Diane, and his beloved wife Tarris.
There will be a short graveside service on Thursday, November 24, 2021 at 2:00pm at Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley, CO.
