- Anthony Louis, 95, of Wyoming, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 19th, 2017. He was born July 29, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio to Eugene L. Ach and Ruth Ilfeld Ach. Anthony attended Walnut Hills High School and graduated from Cornell University in 1944. He served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army from June 16, 1944 to September, 1946, seeing active duty in the Pacific Theatre at the end of World War II. Anthony married Barbara Stark of Cincinnati in 1944. Together they had four children. HIs second marriage in 1966 was to Doris Dever, of Portsmouth, OH. They had two daughters.
Anthony began his career in insurance sales, and upon the passing of his father, took the reigns of his father's toy business, Merry Manufacturing Co, located in Lockland, OH. He sold Merry Manufacturing in 1964 to the Ideal Toy Company. He then founded a very successful manufacturing representative business, and retired from, Ach, O'Dea and Crotty, specializing in housewares representation in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. He also was one of the originating principals of Valley Temple of Wyoming, Ohio. He was an avid and talented tennis player, and downhill skier.
He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Green (Zachary) of Wyoming, Ohio and Betsy Ach of Woodlawn, Ohio; and his sons, Jonathan J. Ach (JoAnn) of San Leandro, CA and Richard A. Ach (Carey Behel), of Prescott, AZ, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, two daughters, Toni Louise Lowenthal and Belinda Ach, both of California, his wife, Doris Dever Ach of Wyoming, Ohio and his brother, Dr. F. Jay Ach and sister, Gene Ach Iglauer, both of Cincinnati.
