  SPRINGFIELD - Ross Edward Barton of Springfield died Sept. 12 of cancer. He was 73. He was born March 21, 1933, in Placerville, Calif., to George and Frances Ferguson Barton. He married Barbara Mc-Ginness in 1951. They divorced in 1955. Barton served in the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1959. He worked in security and communications at Lane Community College for 27 years. Survivors include three sons, Robert, Steven and Donald; a stepson, Benjamin Nahir of Florida; and a life partner of 18 years, Ginny Stark.
