  • Notes
    • Milton R. Friedman, a real estate lawyer and scholar who wrote several standard works on property law, died on Sept. 16 at his home in Manhattan. He was 93.

Mr. Friedman, a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School, was a law clerk, then known as law secretary, to Judges Learned Hand and Thomas W. Swan of the United States Court of Appeals.

His publisher, the Practising Law Institute, described Mr. Friedman's ''Contracts and Conveyances of Real Property,'' an analysis of real-property law published in 1954, and ''Friedman on Leases,'' an analysis of commercial real estate leases published in 1974, as two of its best-selling titles.

Mr. Friedman, a former partner in Parker, Duryee, Zunino, Malone & Carter in New York City, was married to the late Dorothy Guiterman Friedman.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Carolyn, of New York City, and three grandchildren.
