    • MAHRER Henry Mahrer Owned Paramus insurance agency, WWII vet, 95 Henry Mahrer, 95, of Monroe Township died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Saint Peters University Hospital, New Brunswick. Funeral services will be conducted from the Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vaux Hall Road, Union, on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin. Born in Frystag, Poland, Mr. Mahrer immigrated to the United States in 1936 and settled in Newark. He later lived in Irvington, West Orange and Springfield before moving to Monroe Township. He wintered in Boynton Beach, Fla. Mr. Mahrer served in the Army during World War II and owned Baron Associates, an insurance agency located in Paramus, for 20 years. Prior to that, he owned and operated Home Fair in Irvington for 25 years and Saffrans in Elizabeth for many years. He retired five years ago. Mr. Mahrer was the past president and board member of Temple Bnai Israel, Irvington; chairman of the Holocaust Committee, Irvington, and member of the Jewish War Veterans and Deborah. Surviving are his wife, Lottie (Bamberger) Mahrer; his children, Meryle Mahrer Kaplan and her husband, Leonard Kaplan, Linda Kirsch, Rita Bamberger Reimer, and Alan and his wife, Roberta Bamberger; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sarah (Adikman) Mahrer, in 1992.
