Ruth Lore Menkel, 90, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of Easton, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, in Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton. Born Sept. 1, 1927, in Cologne, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Max and Bertha (Linz) Grunewald. Her husband, Ernest Menkel, died in 2007.
Ruth owned Sir Speedy Printing, Easton, for 26 years. She was a member of Temple Covenant of Peace, Easton, where she served as secretary of the Board and the Sisterhood. She was a past president of Planned Parenthood, Easton; a member of the Jewish Community Center; a member of the Fairview Elementary School, Wilson Borough, PTA and a volunteer for the Red Cross, March of Dimes, United Way and Easton Hospital. During WWII, she served on the Human Relations Committee of the WVS.
She is survived by her daughter, Lindy G. Menkel of Boca Raton, and her nieces and nephews, Eileen Eckhaus, Marion Mintzer, Leslie Koelsch, Ellen Levine, Jeff Grunewald and Rob Grunewald. Her brother, Fred Grunewald, died in 2015.
