Notes |
- Dr. Barry Rosenberg, 78, of Chevy Chase, MD, formerly of Bowie, died of cancer on
October 30.
Doc was an original homeowner in Bowie in 1962 and was one of the first family doctors here in Bowie. His practice was in Cheverly, but in those days his home visits included Bowie, Prince George's County and Washington, D.C. His practice grew to the largest in P.G. County. He was a former president of the Maryland Medical Association and an original investor/owner in Doctor's Hospital in Lanham.
During his 25 years in Bowie he was an active member of the Nevey Shalom congregation. Only a heart condition forced him to retire from his much loved family practice. He then wintered with his wife in Boca Raton, Fla., and returned to Chevy Chase where he enjoyed his time with his extended family.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet; and daughters, Jan Kibler (Tom Fry) of Crownsville, Susan (Jude) Masters of Bowie, Lynn Rosenberg (Ali Costello) of Frederick; and son, Steven (Lisa) Rosenberg of Laurel. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy Pearson Rosenberg. He has eight grandchildren and three nieces.
