    • It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William ";Bill"; H. Freemel on Oct. 22, 2016, in Boston, Mass., of complications following an acute stroke. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Springhill Suite Anchorage University Lake, 4050 University Lake Drive in Anchorage, Alaska. Bill was an active member of the NANA Community serving as VP of Human Resources of NMS and NDC. He touched hundreds of lives during his career in Alaska. During his time at Alyeska, he reached out to the local educators and businesses and was instrumental in forming APICC. Bill was always an active member of the communities he lived in by serving on hospital boards and by advising workforce development and education initiatives in Washington and Alaska. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War as a Forward Air Controller with First ANGLICO. Bill will be laid to rest with full military honors in San Diego, Ca. He was a distinguished veteran who reached out to fellow veterans. Bill is survived by his life partner and best friend, Traci Phillips; daughters, Brianna Freemel and Veronica Campbell; and grandchildren, Levi, Joshua, Alanna, Hollyn and Rowen. He will be greatly missed by Misty Phillips and Ryan Phillips.
