  SLOSS, Carolyn Reese - 1920-2005 Died Saturday evening, February 5, 2005 from complications of pneumonia, never having lost her will to live or enthusiasm and love of life. Born February 20, 1920 daughter of Sol and Hattie Reese, she grew up in Evansville, IN and graduated from the University of Evansville. She spent most of her adult life in Louisville, KY and moved to San Rafael, CA in 1996. Her husband, Robert L. Sloss, a prominent Louisville attorney, preceded her in death (1988). Mrs. Sloss is survived by her sons, Dr. Robert Sloss (Francis Helphinstine) of Morehead, KY; Richard Sloss (JoAnne Berlin) of Mill Valley, CA; her daughter, Martha Sloss (Murray Silverman) of Oakland, CA; all of their children and grandchildren; and many close friends and relatives. Carolyn is best remembered for her kindness, generosity, friendship and keen mind. She was a volunteer for the Jewish Home for Convalescent Children and The Ronald McDonald House in Louisville. She had an avid interest in world events, loved tennis, nature and cooking and always showed her concern for others. Her positive attitude and strength were inspirational to friends and family who will dearly miss her.
