Lizzetta was born in Columbus, Ohio to Henry Dombrower and Sarah Rosalie "Sallie" (Weiss) Dombrower. She had several siblings.
Lizzetta Roselair was killed by her husband John D. Roselair after less than a year of marriage. He accused her of serving plain skimmed milk instead of cream with his breakfast porridge. He claimed self defense, telling police that she attacked him with the pan of milk and that he had to protect himself by repeatedly slashing into her head with a very large knife. The injuries quickly became fatal.
Lizzetta Roselair was 23 at the time of the killing. John Roselair was twice her age and had been divorced two times before marrying Lizzetta. According to neighbors, he had a history of angry outbursts and odd behavior.
In late December of 1909, he was convicted of murdering his wife. On September 8, 1910, he was executed at the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem.
