  • Notes
    • February 27, 1943 - September 2, 2014 Wilma (Willie) Linsk, a loving parent, grandmother and business professional active in the Los Angeles Jewish community, died Tuesday after a valiant, nearly two-year fight against pancreatic cancer. Willie died peacefully at her Tarzana home with her husband of 35 years, Michael, at her bedside. She was 71 years old. Born Wilma Maxine Rosen in Indianapolis, in 1951 she moved to Los Angeles. She graduated from San Fernando High School and attended Valley College and Cal State Northridge (CSUN) when it was known as San Fernando Valley State College. For nearly 15 years she was the business manager of CSUN's daily student newspaper and held a similar position for the Daily Trojan at USC. For decades she taught Sunday school to hundreds of children at Temple Judea in Tarzana and served in an administrative role at Steven S. Wise Temple. For the last 9 years Willie owned The Move Managers, a company she founded that assisted mostly elderly people who were scaling down their lives and moving from larger homes to smaller quarters. Willie started the business when there were few people in the country engaged in the activity and subsequently was active in the National Association of Senior Move Managers, which now has nearly 1,000 members. She often said it was not until she started The Move Managers that she found her true calling, assisting people at an emotionally hard time in their lives. She maintained relationships with many of those who started as clients and became her friends. Willie is survived by her husband Michael Linsk, her stepchildren Steven Linsk and Cari Cohen, and her brother Dr. Philip Rosen. She is also survived by grandchildren Noam, Danit and Talia, the children of Cari and Rabbi Mitch Cohen. She was a loving and active grandmother. For many years she served on the Board of Directors of The Executives, the San Fernando Valley support group for the Jewish Home where her mother Jeannette lived her final years. Funeral services are set for 12:30pm Thursday at Mt. Sinai Hollywood Hills Memorial Park,
