Notes |
- ANTIN, NICOLE (NIKKI) nee Muriel Rothenberg Passed away on June 2, 2018 after a brief illness that ensued after a fall. Nikki was born in New York to Meyer and Rebe Rothenberg on July 7, 1924. As a teenager she studied music, played the harp and later attended Julliard School of Music. She became a professional harpist playing for the Kansas City Orchestra and the NBC Orchestra at Radio City Music Hall. Nikki was swept off her feet by Wallace M. Antin, an Air Force bomber pilot and they married in 1947. Wally became a real estate developer, relocating for business to So. Florida. Nikki worked alongside Wally in the real estate business while raising two children, Mark and Jane. She was remarkable in her resilience when the financial vagaries of the building business tested her, venturing out and becoming a real estate agent when she was well into her 60's. When financial times were good, Nikki's life was rich with tennis, travel, boating and fishing, and working for charitable organizations. Nikki lived a fulfilling 93 years, most recently residing at Oakmonte Village of Davie where she met many new friends. Nicole is predeceased by her loving husband Wallace and her brother Arthur Rothenberg. She is survived by her son Mark Antin and wife Sarah and her daughter Jane Mazzarella and husband John. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws Barbara Schekter and Enid Rothenberg. Additionally, Nicole is survived by four grandchildren, Jesse Antin, Cali Mazzarella, Judd Antin, Dara Mazzarella and 4 great grandchildren Mason, Rye, Sage and Thomas. A celebration of Nicole's life was held at Oakmonte Village of Davie among family and friends followed by a scattering of ashes in the warm Gulfstream waters.
